History should be fascinating for us all. Our high quality History curriculum will give children knowledge and understanding of the past in Britain and the wider world. We look to learn how key figures have helped shape the world we live in. We will highlight evidence of famous people displaying our ethos of faith, ambition, courage and endeavour. Influential women and people from different races and cultures are studied to provide positive role models and tackle stereotypes that have been encountered.

Once the children have a sound base of knowledge we expect the pupils to be able to ask perceptive questions, evaluate arguments and appreciate alternative perspectives. We want our children to be able to take part in discussions and conversations about key events in History and understand historical references. Lessons will often involve debates and role playing and we look to provide trips, experiences and artefacts to bring the subject to life and develop a passion for History.
